Did you know today was National Ice Cream Day? As huge ice cream fans ourselves, we reached out to Christina Christian, the Event Director for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, to get her input on the best way to incorporate ice cream at any event.
What advise would you give someone considering having an ice cream bar at their wedding or social event?
Everybody loves ice cream! But not everyone has the same tastes. Here at Jeni’s we pride ourselves on imaginative, phenomenal flavor combinations, but we definitely don’t bring all the tools in our toolbox, so to speak, to large corporate events and weddings. Keep flavor choices to four or less and provide a combination of more traditional flavors with one or two options for those more adventurous ice cream admirers. Try to provide at least one non-dairy option for those with food allergies. Our Reisling Poached Pear Sorbet is a killer option.
What are your most popular combinations?
Some of our most popular combinations are Salty Caramel, Ndali Estate Vanilla Bean, Dark Chocolate and Brown Butter Almond Brittle.
How about toppings? We can’t forgot those!
Toppings, like our Gravels and Sauces, add additional elements to events that we see the customers in our shops go crazy over.

We are seeing a big trend of incorporating alcohol into desserts. Is this an option with Jeni’s?
Yes! Most of the sorbets (especially our Riesling Poached Pear Sorbet) make of an easy-peasy float. Just a 1-2 scoops of the sorbet and top with sparkling wine. We also have some other great recipes like the “Rouge Your Knees” or the Red Raspberry sorbet which are in our new cookbook.
